Halloween
Every year as I get older Halloween gets less and less exiting for me. I remember when I was little only dressing up a couple times, my parents weren't really into the spirit so not every year I would dress up. One year I was minnie mouse, and another i believe a bunny.. I really don't remember and i couldn't find any pictures. Trick- or- treating has been the traditon for many of us. And attending many events like Universal's Horror Nights. I went about three weeks ago and it was so much fun! It was crowded though. I went only in a couple of mazes the first was the Llorona. It was not to scary for me but I thought it was hilarious becase my brother and my sister-in-law went in front of me and they were the first ones to get scared. lol I also went on the scream tram. I liked that one the best, I thought it was kool when we got off the little tram ride as soon as we got there the chainsaws went off and to me tat was exiting. Lots of people getting scared and yelling and trying to run away. I remember the one moment i really got scared was walking to the Wolf man maze i think, my friends and I were walking and they have the fog going, so you can't see where your going. I was walking holding my friend's arm and staring at some girl that was yelling because she had gotten scared, then i look in front of me and their was this clown in my face! I jumped, I didn't expect him to be there.

Last year for Halloween I carved pumpkins with my boyfriend . =) It was lots of fun even though it can be messy. My pumpkin wasn't that great but his was, this year I didn't carve pumpkins. =? The past couple of years I've gone to Hollywood with my brother and his friends, its fun seen all these different funny, ugly, scary, etc costumes! The one costume I remember was hilarious was this guy dressed up as woody the cowboy. It was one of those costumes you slip into and it had the horse sticking out so it looked like he was riding it. There were officers on horses passing by on the street and this woody guy pretended to gallop next to the horses saying "there's a snake in my boot. " lol and one of hte officers made the horse dance and the guy got all scared. =) too bad this year I don't think ill be able to go to Hollywood. My brother is not in town and it just won't be the same without him.

In Mexico we don't celebrate Halloween but what is called "Dia de Los Muertos " wich is on November 1st and 2nd. On these days catholics have gatherings of family and friends and they all pray for those close to them who have passed away. Also they create altars for the deceased by using decorations like skulls and the person's favorite food and beverages, and they also visit their graves and take these as gifts to them. I've never had the chance to be in Mexico during this time but i would definitely like to experince it. And visit my great grama. =)

Paranormal Activity 3

Poster art for "Paranormal Activity 3."

This Saturday I went to the movie theather to watch Paranormal Activity 3. I dont know why but I like watching scary movies. It was an alright movie my friend and I went together and for the most part he got more scared than I did. I only got scared like twice. I enjoy scary movies and it's kind of hard to get scared easily. Half of the time I was laughing because, they guys sitting next to us were all scared and shaking and covering their faces. lol. I don't want to ruin the movie if you haven't seen it but I will say it does have to do with the first and second one. I just don't like the way in wich the movies came out, maybe it was the order in wich the tapes were found? But that just makes you want to go back and watch them all again. I think im going to do that, because there is parts I forgot already.

For some reason I don't have nightmares when I watch scary movies like this one, but the weird part was that I did this week. It was thursday night, before I even watched the movie, it wasn't pleasant at all. All that i remember is sleeping and feeling like I wasn't able to move, I keped wanting to wake up and open my eyes but i couldn't. I felt as if I had no control of my body and it was a very scary feeling. Finally i managed to wake up and as soon as I could open my eyes I looked at the clock and it was 3AM. I lay in my bed quiet, and all that I could hear was my heart pounding in my chest. I looked at my bed and my blankets were gone. I looked on the floor and there they were I grabbed them and put them over me again and waited to see what would happen. Of course nothing did, and from waiting for nothing to happen I fell back asleep. The next morning I told my mom what had happend and she didn't believe me.

Growing up I hardly remeber having nightmares or dreams like these. My friend says I dreamed that because I fell asleep thinking about the movie. I think it could be that, or maybe because we were making fun of my brother the day before because he's always been a chicken in scary things. And when we envited him to join us for Saturday he said he'd rather not. And the one who ended up having the nightmare was me =/
I've always wondered why do we dream at night? Or why do we dream of something and then it really happens for reals? Because I've had that also happen to me, dreaming about something and then it really happens and I always feel like I've already done it before, like Deja Vu or something.

Selena Quintanilla
(1971-1995)

When I was a little girl I remember I use to love listening to Selena. Selena was a famous Latin artist often called "the queen of Tejanao music. "  My mom and dad say I use to imatate her and dance and sing to her music when I was little.(This i dont remember lol ) Only one ocasion when my mom and I were on our way to the store I remember listening to her on the radio and I was singing and the next thing I kno we get hit by a car. That was the only time I remeber me singing along to her music and I was supper scared that we had gotten hit by a car I just stopped singing. But we were ok. My parents say my uncle use to record me all the time but still today I have been able to locate those videos. Good thing because I would be emberrased to see them. lol Here is one of my favorite songs.       http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAufRfxKqtU&feature=related

Selena was born to Abraham Quintanilla and Marcela Selena was a great singer though she had to take a lot of critizism as a woman latin singer she was very succesfull. Selena started singing at a young age in a band her father formed consisting of her, her brother A.B. and her sister Suzzete, called Selena y Los Dinos. Selena's father taught her brother how to play the guitar (bass) and her sister was the drummer while she was the lead singer. Mr. Qintanilla was a strict father and would force Selena and her siblings to pratice daily. They would play at their parent's restaurant, parties and fairs. When Selena was fourteen she recorded her first album in Courpus Christi, Texas. Selenas spanish wasn't the greatest and had to learn quickly. Many thought Selena would not be a successful female lead singer in the genre of Tejano music, because of the males dominated the music. Selena's father was determined to make her a successful singer and selena finishes high school thru mail. The Quintanilla family traveled between 1986 and 1989, and Selena released several albums. In 1987 Selena won FEMALE Vocalist of the Year at the Tejano Music Awards, and won for eight consecutive years.

In 1988, Selena met Chris Perez, who previously had his own Rock band, but then became her guitarist. Selena and  Chris began to fall in love with each other, Selena's father was mad and tried to keep them apart and even fired Chris from the band. Mr. Quintanilla thought the relationship between the two would ruin Selena's career.  Even though her father disaproved of him Selena and Chris eloped on April 2, 1992, in Nueces County, Texas. Selena confronted her father the next day after radio stations announced the marriage, her father then accepted the relationship and PĂ©rez in the family.

On March 31, 1995, {my birthday:( } Selena was shot by a woman who worked for her. That day Selena had met up with Saldivar at her hotel who was returning some paperwork she stole from Selena. She told Saldivar she was no longer trusted by her and Saldivar pulled a gun out of her purse and shot Selena in the right lower sholder, hitting a major artery that led from Selena's heart, resulting in a massive blood loss. Selena ran to the hotel lobby and before collapsing to the floor she named Saldivar as her assailant and gave the room number where she had been shot. At 23 years old Selena was pronounced dead at 1:05 pm due to blood loss and cardiac arrest. ;(
Saldivar was taken under arrest and reamains in prison.

Italy

When  I was in High School, I took I Italian for two years. You are required to take at least two languages in high school, so for my freshman and sophmore year i took spansh for spanish speakers. For my junior and senior year i took Italian, but i really don't remember anything but like two or three words. lol I must say though i do not regret taking the class. All of my closest friends also took the class with me and it was way more fun. =) One day our junior year our italian teacher, Mrs. Moskal asked the class who would be interested in going to Italy if she organized a trip? My friends and I were exited and thought the would be kool if we all went together. There were six of us and we hoped all of our parents would let us go. Days went by and Mrs. Moskal continued oraganizing the trip, and gave us more details about it. Meanwhile I had asked my parents if I could go, but they didn't seem ok with the idea. But I told them Mrs. Moskal said we could anyone of our family members with us, and I asked my brother to come with and he said he would. So I had permission to go and now we were only waiting on my friends' permission from their parents.

It was amazing that all of our parents had given us permision, so we all began to pack our bags. We went during our winter break so we left after christmas and we would spend new years in Italy. Our flight was almost 12 hours long and felt like forever!! I had nver been on and airplane that long, but we finally arrived in Milan, and headed to the hotel we would be staying in Tuscany. The time change was a lil crasy becase we where all tired and wanted to sleep but it was daylight so we were thrown off big time. The first place we visited was the colosseum in Rome, i was amased on how big it was. And it was very interesting to learned the colosseum was used for gladiatorial contest and public spectacle like animal hunts, executions and dramas based on Classical mythology. The building was also used for entertainment in the early medival era and later reused for housing or workshops. Today the colosseum is ruined by damages of earthquakes, but is one of Rome's most popular attractions.

We also went to the Sistine Chapel in Rome where Michael Angelo painted the ceiling of the Chapel wich took about four years to complete from (1508 to 1512). Michael Angelo's work is part of a large scheme of decoration within the chapel wich represents much of the doctrine of the Catholic Church.  The painting contains over 300 figures and at the center nine episodes from the Book of Genesis, that was divided into 3 groups; God's creation of the Earth, God's creation of humankind, and the state of humanity. Also in Michael angelo's painting are paintings of The Creation of Adam and Eve.

We were not allowed to take pictures inside of the chapel so i tried my best to snap some pictures I tried the best that I could.

Heres another not the best but again I was trying not to get caught taking the pictures. lol

The next place we visited was Pisa, wich is known worldwide for its leaning tower or Torre pendente di Pisa. The leaning tower is almost 184 feet on the lower side from the ground and 186 feet on the higher side. The tower has 296 or 294 steps, because  the seventh floor has two fewer steps on the north-facing staircase. The tower leaned at an angle of 5.5 degrees between 1990 and 2001 but the tower now leans at about 3.99 degrees. This makes the tower seem like it's falling and many people like to take pictures and here is my picture not very succesful at making the ilusion that i was holding it but i tried.

Our trip was very exiting and even though i was very home sick and missed my parents i did enjoy myself and hopefully one day i will go back and visit Italy again .=)

When I turned sixteen I got my license that summer, I was really exited, even though it was a provisional license and could only drive by myself or with an adult with a license I was thrilled. The provisional license only lets you drive certain hours at night but I didn't care I was happy I had passed both my written and behind the wheel test on my first try. I remember those days perfectly. The first was the day I took my written test, my brother took me I was so not ready that day, he got home from work and I was suppose to be studying because I knew he was going to take me to the dmv that afternoon, but I fell asleep. So when he got home he woke me up and said "Let's go." And all I remember was been mad at myself for forgeting to study and falling asleep. We got to the DMV and I got my test and sat down, I seemed to know what I was doing because I felt like I was done preety quick. I looked at my brother and I saw his expression wich meant "to go over the test again," so I did. Then i finally got up and took it to the lady that would grade it, and she went thru it so fast i wasn't counting how many I was getting wrong. Then all i heard was "you passed," I was soo exited! And I hugged my brother and he was happy for me too. Afterwards I scheduled an appointment for my behind the wheel test. That day I was really nervous, my mom took me this time I remember having that one person who everyone seemed to fail when they took the test. AKA the "the fat lady" she was known to be a tough grader and alot of peple would fail. So in my head i was like fml. So we took off, she would tell me where to turn and I listened  I drove freakin nervous but i played it off kool. Finally she asked me to drive back to the DMV so I did, I pulled in to a parking spot and she said,"turn off the engine," I did. She checked off things on the paperwork in her hands and said,"you passed." I got out of the car and called my dad, I was soo happy he said "felicidades hija." I walked towards my mom and she knew i passed she said becasue i had a big smile on my face.

After passing my tests I was exited, because i knew the next step was going to be for me to be getting a car. Meanwhile I drove my parents car, but I wanted my own car. I had money saved up so I knew that money would go towards my first car. When I turned seventeen I bought my first car, a 2003 vw jetta. I liked it alot it was gray small and cute. And best of all it was mine =). It got me from point A to point B and that was all i needed it for preety much so i was happy. I was in High school i would drive it to school, from school to home, and work and back. The only thing I didn't like about my car was that it was stick shift, at first i was like ya i like it, since I first learned to drive in a stick shirt car but after a while i got annoyed. I wanted an automatic car.

When I was almost nineteen my brother bought himself a new truck, and I decided to get rid of my car and  I kept his old truck. =) I loved my new truck it was big and i was exited because I felt way better in a truck than the small jetta i remember driving in freeways and thinking gosh those trailers are going to crush me. But now i was thrilled to have a big truck, I wasn't scared of any cars on the road. I felt the same and not little anymore. My truck is spacious and I feel like I could fit way more friends in it. lol. Plus i feel like it fits my personality.
